Byzantine: The Betrayal
-----------------------
The summons from your friend in Turkey promises you a story that any
investigative journalist would die for. Once in Istanbul, you begin
to suspect your friend's words may prove prophetic, as you are plunged
into a conspiracy that's plundering the legacy of a lost civilization.
In this dangerously authentic adventure, you'll need all your reporters
instincts and skills to solve your way to the truth...or perish in the
attempt. Now, let the journey begin. But remember: Trust no one.
Suspect Everyone. And play as if your life depends on it.

II. Running the demo
When you first begin the demo, an introductory movie will begin.
The movie gives you a taste of the mysterious storyline that you will be
part of while playing Byzantine. In subsequent uses of the demo, you may
click on the video at any time to bypass it. After the into video, you
be shown the opening menu screen, from which there are three choices
A. **Overview**
By clicking on the Overview button, you can learn more about Byzantine:
The Betrayal and the Planet Explorer brand.
a. The PX Line selection tells you all about Planet Explorer, where it's
come from and where it's going.
b. The Features selection gives you information on some specific cool things
that make Byzantine the unique adventure game that it is.
c. Didn't get enough plot information from the opening video? No problem,
just click on the Synopsis button to find out more!
d. And finally, the System button lets you know what kind of computer is
needed to play Byzantine: The Betrayal.
B. **Map**
Clicking on the Map button from the main menu takes you to a map of Istanbul,
much like the one that you use to travel in the game. Although there are many
more locations in the game itself, in this demo you can visit three real life
locations in Istanbul. Access each location by using the mouse pointer and
clicking on the highlighted location you wish to visit. When you click on a
location, you are transported to a 360 degree panoramic view. By using the
arrow buttons at the bottom of the screen, you can scroll around the view
and look all around your current location.
Keep in mind that in the final game, moving around in these views is
completely free-moving and fluid (graphics had to be scaled down for
the demo). Click on the map button to return to the map view. Once you have
returned to the map view, you can either return to the main menu by clicking
on the Menu button or quit the demo by clicking on the Quit button.
C. **Gallery**
Byzantine has the most realistic graphics ever seen in a computer adventure
game. Shot on location in Istanbul, these are a sampling of the rich world
you will enter in Byzantine. By clicking on the Gallery button, you begin a
slideshow that can be ended at any time by clicking on any graphic.
